I hate to be that guy but Talarico is literally a Presbyterian
I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.
I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.
1/ Here's what I can share:
Here's a "Fuck Andy Ogles" thread of Congressional Democrats!
trump's fascism is categorically different to previous conservatism

Fantastic post
Hey that’s about the cost of the SSI Restoration Act, which would cut recipient poverty by 60%, eliminate marriage penalties, and modernize draconian asset limits.
i think it may become increasingly obvious over the next year that a vote for Trump is a vote for war with Iran
Right now Jasmine's best hope comes from keeping down the margins in Bexar County we literally have another Crockett making their last stand at the Alamo
In my local area there are a good handful of nonprofits doing the kind of grunt work once done by the local paper. I think they’re in most cities
we finally reached the end of this calendar event i accidentally made 12 years ago
Quite the chart
Seems remarkable that in its transition from a one-party state to a different one-party state, at no time in the last 40 years did either party want to attack utilities. (IIRC Wallace did rail against them)
Grok insists my dissertation adviser was a man I've never met and says my first book won several prizes that don't even exist but I'm sure it'll work out fine to give it access to classified defense systems.

I think that last chart looks like a tooth; I propose we switch from “duck curve” to “solar molar”
Thanks for being on here, but the first rule of Bluesky is we don’t complain about Bluesky
By the always excellent Erin Davis, a chart of the first names that have seen the greatest (estimated) drop in living Americans with that name. Much more here, including an interactive to look the trends for any first name: erdavis.com/2026/02/16/i...
We have a lot of tailors here in Oklahoma but they often are refugees
This is funny because of course they also zeroed out NPR’s funding but it continues to function. Maybe DHS can do a pledge drive, everyone who says they just want a secure border can call in and get a mug or tote
Perhaps their hatred of taxation leads them to behave irrationally
I bet it’s stacked leather, not wood
Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".
“You want to say that it’s water under the bridge,” Shaun Powers said, recalling his battle with State Farm as his wife died of cancer. “God forgives and God forgets, but I don’t. I’ll eat a bag of Skittles and watch you burn in Hell.”

I’m so proud of this community for doing that
“People make excuses for him. They say he’s not serious. Everything a president says is serious!”
You can always count on @barackobama.bsky.social to give us an honest #CupOfJoe. I miss that.
The world is watching, & and the straws are adding up.
In light of Trump’s post yesterday, some history:
“On Memorial Day 1927, 1,000 white-robed Klansmen marched through the Jamaica neighborhood, eventually spurring an all-out brawl in which seven men were arrested. One of those arrested was Fred Trump.” www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix...
With some new polls showing John Cornyn in *third* place in the #TXSen GOP primary, we asked the singular Eric Ostermeier of UMN's Smart Politics when was the last time such a fate befell an incumbent senator.
It's been a while: #NHSen Maurice Murphy took 3rd in a 1962 special election primary!
