Einstein predicted it, and Mars has just confirmed it: time flows differently on the Red Planet forcing future space missions to adapt On his screen, a thin green line showed the ticking of a perfectly calibrated atomic clock aboard a spacecraft orbiting the Red Planet. The problem was simple and deeply unsettling: the two clocks no ...

The key here is remembering “space-time”: time is not separate from space (3 dimensional matter in a gravitational field).

Mars' weaker gravity and different orbital motion mean that clocks on/around Mars tick at a subtly different rate than on Earth.

Great news! @mariaingaramo.bsky.social 's company (Nonfiction Labs) made a remote-controlled antibody.

Its binding turns on and off with a magnet.

This is a HUGE step towards our dream of magnetically controlled drugs. Imagine a cancer drug that ONLY attacks the tumor, not the rest of your body.

How anyone can write within a 300 character limit is beyond my comprehension. This poem started as a post and ended in my notes app growing well beyond any imposed character confinement. Poetry must always be rebellious. Always demanding of a longer stay, always with more to

September

Then the flowers became very wild because it was early September and they had nothing to lose they tossed their colors every which way over the garden wall splattering the lawn shoving their wild orange red rain-disheveled faces into my window without shame Orange dahlia lit by September sun.

He loves the Beatles so much he “saves” albums for when he’s older, as a treat for his future self. Practices an auditory abstinence… by which I could never abide. I must devour what I love while it’s still ripe with bliss, while it still tastes of summer cherries and caramel.

Opinion | America Is Pushing Its Workers Into Homelessness

A Labor Day reminder: today there isn't a single city, metro area, or state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment.

Millions of people with jobs—even multiple jobs—aren't safe from homelessness in this country.

And I can’t help but imagine Pasternak, Eve Babitz, and du Maurier in a room together: What would they talk about? What would they laugh about? Would they even like each other? What poems/stories would they share?

Bittersweetly, I’ve finished my summer reading. I could not have chose 3 books more different from each other. I’ve been teleporting from the hardships of Russia in the early 1900’s, to the glamorous chaos of LA in the 60’s, to the haunting magic of a seaside town in 1940’s Cornwell.

Wonderful poets ✨
For me it would certainly be hard to describe the tragedy of the United States without Lorde, hard to describe the humor of the US without William Carlos Williams.

Boycotting all meta monopolies so bounced over to #Pixelfed 🌈 10/10 recommend.
Found myself writing a poem while attempting to write a bio:

To paths discovered,
to bridges burned.
I introduce a fleeting muse,
of moonlit haze.
My magic strays,
in everything I do not say.

The idea that a president can issue an executive order that overrides Congress, while it may be appealing to everyone who wants TikTok back and agrees that the TikTok ban is a first amendment violation, is actually illegal dictator shit

My sweet sister,
city,
LA.

We have been the wounded children,
dreamers with empty stomachs and cracked hands raised on fairytales run dry.
We watched with innocent eyes poetry and pain sleep side by side.
Wondering how the wounded could grow wings to chase their wildest dreams.
