All of the young people I know are buying houses or saving for them. Their secret is living on an extremely tight budget (eating food they cooked at home, super cheap travel only, buying 2nd-hand, doing gig jobs for extra$). Kinda like I did, and my parents did.

Agreed! My only point was that it's too bad China's EVs are mostly powered by coal, making them likely worse for GHG emissions than gas-powered cars over their life-cycle. Until China gets off coal, my argument stands, as far as I can see.
