Wow, incredible photo. So glad to hear you’re ok. Are you happy to tell us what type of car you can walk away from that unscathed in please?
Hey I did a fun thing with @warren.senate.gov about breaking up giant healthcare conglomerates
This extended interview from yesterday's Late Show between Stephen Colbert Ian McKellen is sheer delight from beginning to end. And the end will blow you away...

Thank you Mr Rafter for for your observations from 1957 - I wonder what you would think of the views now of Mr Trump.
And a follow on question for any US ally that hosts US troops and bases (I’m specifically thinking of Aus and Pine Gap) . What will be the response of an Australian govt. if the current US regime initiates an action that an Australian govt. objects to?
I’m pleased to hear this! But if we had a Time Machine in 2024 and read this - we would have thought - whhhhaaaatt?
Those ads are so out there, I wonder how they go down outside of oz. You probably have to know at least one Australian to understand the humour.
If you’re visiting Sydney - check out the Butcher’s Brew Bar in Dulwich hill for some great music . Excellent with Adam Pringle and friends tonight .
We’re so lucky in Australia that small regional hospitals have antivenom and we have a sophisticated communication and retrieval system. 20 years ago an individual in that situation would unfortunately have become a statistic.
I was on that trail a few weeks ago - I’ll always check that I have a full compression bandage from now on.
She is one very, very lucky walker. Someone had a compression bandage, a phone had signal and ......... helicopter medics got to her with antivenom in 50 minutes.😱
This is a lovely, lovely story and would make a wonderful Christmas film too www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
A spot of fishing on the beach in summer. Never actually caught anything in all our attempts but that’s probably not the main reason.
Thanks for sharing that with everyone here. Best wishes for a rapid and full recovery.
Half of the artists in my top 10 are either dead or in rehab.
Frikkin amazing stuff.
Nice view of the famous Liverpool skyline from up here! Both cathedrals, and the Radio City tower are visible. Bit chilly right now though.
Liverpool is a brilliant city.
We are looking forward to welcoming our delegates at tomorrow's Annual Scientific Meeting #SIVA25.
See you there!
This is just all gold. Stop everything now and read about hippos.

Very interesting from Bloomberg re Central Ctte meeting just finished in #China. Only 168 of 205 delegates turned up. You'd need a pretty good excuse not to be there. Of 37 "missing", one dead + ten had been officially purged. Where were the other 26? Also purged?

Thanks, makes a lot of sense. Some human endeavours are precarious at the best of times. I wonder if there is a branch of ethics which analyses issues regarding these situations: how to license and consent to undertaking perilous events, when is it appropriate to rescue vs non-rescue?
I have never trekked to the Himalayas but I always wonder in these situations if they are being ‘rescued’ by other humans - what do the rescuers possess that the trekkers don’t possess? One might assume that if the ‘trekkers’ probably have essential survival equipment. Am I missing something here?
Very insightful comments on how to come to terms with the diminution of physical facility as one ages - from rich roll who is recovering from major back surgery.
University student submissions requires authors to specify if and how AI was used in their generation. If one make a statement proven to be false, the submission is failed and there may be other consequences. In corporate submissions shouldn’t that mean a full refund, not a ‘partial refund’. AFR
Interesting statement regarding the perceived veracity and responsibility of ChatGPT.
