Brazil’s Cerrado may be one of the most important carbon sinks in the Americas, though its carbon-storing capacity has been historically overlooked.
Yes. I worked on Jack Pine, Pinus banksiana, for 2 summers in Saskatchewan and they rely on fire to propagate.

COVID-19 gave our environment an emissions respite, but an atmospheric methane surge had scientists puzzled. New research takes a stab at explaining the spike.
While it seems to be a lost skill i remember my mom telling a sibling 'don't be gullible' and my dear spouse recall coming home from grammar school and telling her mom about this fantastical thing the nun told her. Her mom simply asked 'does it make sense?' Well no! And that has guided her since

I am a newbie and learning. Different seasons seem to have different options. This spiral M51 is classic. Faint needing long exposure
I considered both. The 50 was a bit more expensive but had better specs. As you can see i love it. Get an equatorial mount!
In support of stand up for science here is an image of galaxy M51. Beautiful night. Clear and no moon

The #snow has stopped but not before giving us another 18.5" (47 cm) in the last day. That brings our 5-day total to 111" (281.5 cm), the third snowiest 5-day period on record at the lab*.
Calm conditions for the next several days but a warmer storm moves in mid-week.
Sad to hear. This was our source of the best ravioli when i was growing up (except when hand made by our Nonna and Zia for Christmas and Thanksgiving)
