In all seriousness, I found Ye's statement geninely moving and raw. It seems quite obvious he's suffered from acute mental illness and it's been really upsetting and tragic to watch him spiral out so publicly. Really hoping he can continue to get the support he needs.

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

I want to say this too: this victory was won because we had observers EVERYWHERE. ICE and CBP couldn't set foot in our city without cameras rolling. Much of the nation seemed determined to ignore our plight for weeks, but the avalanche of documentation we produced dragged the nation to us.

The observers weren't the only link on the chain. We needed media, politicians, and reporters to get the message out. The people who wanted to go it alone - please recognize that we relied on these institutions.

But it started with us, with the record we made, peacefully but relentlessly.

Pretti's murder - captured from every angle and eventually collapsed to a single image that emblemized the utter brutality of this occupation - showed why the system was necessary. But even before it, the torrent of footage we were producing, all day, every day, built the pressure on Trump.
