Taxing speeders seems a great way to get revenue. A tax you can opt out of - brilliant

Could be worse. In order to avoid controversy, all Euro notes feature bridges. In order further to avoid controversy, they're all fictional. Or they were until the folk of the Dutch town of Spijkenisse took it upon themselves to build them. Now all Euro notes feature bridges from just one Dutch town

Well I wear it all the time but don't work out much. I would get a rash whatever. My wife was the same and swapped first so it worked for us both.

All our entry points are at chest height so much easier wearing the lanyard. Still most people don't and keep in their pocket which is more awkward. Lanyard fear is all a bit weird.

Surely there must be loads of books with school children as the main characters.

1. A short thread on a Bluesky phenomenon that might be described as "They are a dead-eyed cultist who must be cast out lest the heresy take root!" OP has blocked me for mocking them - I'd usually obscure their name but since they themselves were quote-dunking to demand someone else be blocked ...

And they work for the employer not the employees. They do what they're told to do. They're not a union

Who can we blame for (thing). The women. Yes the women are wrong. Who else could it be?

Putting a rock by the victim seems a particularly rubbish way of incriminating someone. Don't get it.

the key thread through all of this is that the men around Epstein are the grimmest fucking sleazebags and Epstein was only too happy to enable their disgusting sleazebaggery. Melinda Gates was absolutely right to dump her sleazebag husband's arse.

Yeah we had a small team in Ukraine and we just didn't hear from them for a week. Fortunately they were 'ok' but had basically fled their office with no notice.

I will give a shout out to the Science museum who plucked us from the back of the queue and got my dad a wheelchair. He's too stubborn to get his own and struggles with two walking sticks.

As a world view that's a bit limited. Some people are funny and pretty and also awful. Take me for instance.

I quite like the 'grade inflation' chart next to a 'poor results' one

Yeah I think there is another group of people using AI in their jobs that can see benefits and huge potential. These aren't the AI tech bros. Doesn't mean it is worthwhile overall but certainly worth a conversation.

The extreme reaction is obviously mental and they are just copying Trump for clicks. But why give them that opportunity?

She wrote to a debating society requesting an audience of some sort. She's an MP. Surely they should be snapping that up?

I know so it's a good opportunity to be more critical. Seems self-defeating.

But why not do it though? I don't get it.

Why say no though? Why give up the opportunity to debate?

Look I know you've got to have your fun, but we seem to get a constant stream of gossip and 'leaks'. Can we not concentrate more on what the government is actually doing in terms of policies? I know the government spin etc is a big part of it but doesn't mean we have to play along
