Loving Karma: What happens when suffering meets compassion?

This is a beautifully made, hopeful film about the power of love in the face of trauma. The transformation of the children in this film is remarkable. There are screenings in Portland, Seattle and Bellingham soon. Check out the website for details! jhamtse.org/loving-karma/

Minnesota anti-ICE protest goes viral as thousands sing in the streets. They have a songbook you can follow, too The group, Singing Resistance, has mobilized thousands to use their voice — and the occasional tambourine.

“Song is a vehicle for us to grieve. It’s a vehicle for us to feel rage. It’s a vehicle for us to strengthen ourselves.”…we’re not singing…because we’re actually not afraid … it is terrifying, what is happening. It’s a way to gather our courage.” www.goodgoodgood.co/articles/sin...

Sometimes a few words you've already heard a hundred times make you cry for the very first time, and I don't presume to know what greatness is but that's gotta be pretty close

My plans for Thanksgiving weekend are clear, I'm not shopping at Target, HomeDepot or Amazon 🚫🚫🚫. I'm so over corporations that back the admins policies, cave to anti-DEI pressure, let ICE terrorize our communities, and chase tax breaks while people go hungry. #WeAintBuyingIt!

If you don’t know Lina Khan, now is a great time to know about her. She’s now on Zohran Mamdani’s transition team. She’s also the former FTC Chair, only 36, & committed to leveling the playing field for everyday Americans. She is an absolute star. This is what hope feels like.

The path to protecting democracy runs through empowered voters and a movement that refuses to back down. We need leaders who will meet the moment, and we’ll be there on the ground and at the polls when they do.

The makers of Tylenol have to weigh the pros and cons. On the one hand, Trump is telling people not to take their product. On the other, he's single-handedly spiking nationwide demand for headache relief.

The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.
As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree.
Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich.
Silencing us impoverishes the whole world.

In 1900, 31% of all deaths were children under the age of 5. Today it’s 0.7%. Vaccines, medications, and modern science are the reason why. Trust the science, it’s been proven to work safely and efficiently time and time again.

Silicon Valley Pledges $200 Million to New Pro-A.I. Super PACs

Empowered by the Supreme Court, tech titans appear poised to deploy their vast wealth to try to buy a government that will impose no guardrails on their already powerful industry. What could go wrong?

4.6 Billion Years On, the Sun Is Having a Moment In the past two years, without much notice, solar power has begun to truly transform the world’s energy system.

Globally, roughly a third more power is being generated from the sun this spring than last. If this exponential rate of growth can continue, we will soon live in a very different world, @billmckibben.bsky.social‬ writes.
