Photo of assembled Fox and bamboo tree from a Lego set.

My first Lego set ever.
And not to brag, but it said 9+ years on the box, but I built it in 4 hours.

I know it's your favorite toy, but there's no replayability. Where are the roguelike elements that ensure each playthrough is different from the last?

I need every single male artist that follows me to read this. It's not very long. You need to bear witness to this shit. You have to see it with your own eyes because you never will in your everyday life.

I'm serious, read it all please

Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four core Classes raided dungeons together in harmony. But then, everything changed when the Fire Class attacked.

‼️Final Statement Regarding EvulArt‼️

I originally did not intend to make this public but recent events have made that impossible. This is no longer "internet drama", it's harassment and retaliation.

Screenshot of a little platformer I've been working as of late. It depicts the protagonist, an enemy (snake), some pick-ups (orbs), and scenery.

I've had a really tough couple weeks, but at least I could try to free my mind of worries (with no avail, to be honest) creating a little platformer. Far from finished, of course, but at least the tutorial/first level is playable.

@v3x3d.bsky.social's assets are really versatile.

Another screenshot, this time showing an area with variety of trees and a Shrine in an islet.

Screenshot of a game I'm designing at the moment, showing the protagonist, a Kitsune Miko, near a small roadside Shrine. WIP.

So, after some edits, I was able to create a small shrine for the protagonist to visit once a while.

Would be possible to share your palette file, so I can edit some sprites to match it and keep everything uniform?

I will not think about creating a new game before finishing the current one.

As I use RPG Maker MV for this, my idea is to resize your 16x16 sprites as needed anyway (I know some of your work is already upscaled, but I can do it myself if needed).
Or, depending on how things go, I'll keep them as 16x16 and use a script to run the game with a smaller size tileset.

I'm looking forward to it, as I'm now at the stage of deciding which assets to use in my game. Your style is currently one of my top choices, but I need to consider the whole usability and matching style if I have to rely on other spriters too.
Btw, can you suggest foe sprites that match your vibe?

In VectoRaith's set of 16x16 Traditional Japanese Buildings tileset pack are there small shrines too? I'm looking for something that could allow me to create a roadside Shinto shrine for a game.

...until today.
46-yo me started and finished Y's this afternoon. The credits just finished rolling.
Today is a good day.

10-yo Gaby would be proud. Back in 1990 I played Y's (Ancient Ys Vanished Omen) on my Sega Master System. Reached the last boss, but never managed to beat him.
Eventually my grandpa gave away my videogame (around 1998) saying I wasn't using it anymore. :-(
I never finished that game...

No one asked, but I'm in a (once again) vibe to create a RPG Maker game, using MV as my engine of choice.
Some ideas here, but I need to see if they can be translated into something playable.

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

I think a lot about how we as a culture have turned "forever" into the only acceptable definition of success.

Like... if you open a coffee shop and run it for a while and it makes you happy but then stuff gets too expensive and stressful and you want to do something else so you close it, it's a "failed" business. If you write a book or two, then decide that you don't actually want to keep doing that, you're a "failed" writer. If you marry someone, and that marriage is good for a while, and then stops working and you get divorced, it's a "failed" marriage.

The only acceptable "win condition" is "you keep doing that thing forever". A friendship that lasts for a few years but then its time is done and you move on is considered less valuable or not a "real" friendship. A hobby that you do for a while and then are done with is a "phase" - or, alternatively, a "pity" that you don't do that thing any more. A fandom is "dying" because people have had a lot of fun with it but are now moving on to other things.

I just think that something can be good, and also end, and that thing was still good. And it's okay to be sad that it ended, too. But the idea that anything that ends is automatically less than this hypothetical eternal state of success... I don't think that's doing us any good at all.

Wish I could internalize this

an illustration by Spindle of the characters Felt (a pink-haired bunnygirl) and Therese (blue-haired elf). Felt is seated on top and behind Therese while hugging her (and her fingers dipping under Therese's bra purely out of "it feels warm"), and Therese is on the bottom and between Felt's legs, looking upwards and smiling while holding a book.
