Working full time doesn’t cancel out the work of running a home. Most people carrying the mental load are working full time too. The issue isn’t the chores, it’s the planning, remembering and delegating them. When one person manages all that, their weekend isn’t much fun either.

If she has to write a weekly JOBS list for a grown adult, she’s already carrying the mental load of the household. Planning & remembering is work too. Adding Steve as a “rebellion” just confirms she’s managing you. A real rebellion would be noticing what needs doing & doing it before she has to ask.
