i love the movie but the manga is even better. there are subplots, backstories and even entire characters that are cut from the movie. it’s finally being officially localized now too which is so awesome. i would love an anime adaptation that properly captures all the details

frustrated with how men treated her. she realized in that moment that she can take power over men. the fact that a man can see a scene as empowering as that and instead interpret it as “she wants to impress the male mc” is kinda depressing to me actually

i think another biiiiig issue i have with the ichi the killer movie is that miike completely misinterpreted karen’s character… she didn’t brutalize that guy bc she wanted to be with kakihara. i don’t think she showed much interest in him at all actually. she doesn’t like pain in the way kakihara-

a lot of the time when reading the ichi manga i feel like takashi miike didn’t even read it 😭😭 those guys were GAY AF…. ESPECIALLY KANEKO!!!! his whole life’s purpose was nothing but to prove himself as a man to kakihara
