Snyder’s newest documentary, "The Librarians" (2025) takes us into the traumatizing world of current day book bans in the United States. These books are being challenged for containing mentions of LGBTQ+ characters and discussions on race, among other social justice related topics. Though this is a harrowing and important topic filled with accounts from librarians facing life altering consequences for speaking up about the freedom to read, as a librarian myself, I found the documentary’s scope to be a bit limited.
