Bard never really cared much for celebrating their birthday, but I usually made them do it anyway. The summer birthday meant they grew up with friends being away, or on a trip themselves. I guess now they are on the ultimate trip. But milestones still stay on my mind. Miss you, love. Happy birthday.

Agreed, and I'm not personally leaving FB right now. I've got my feed there curated well enough that although I'm seeing the usual amount of garbage, I'm not yet seeing an uptick in queer/transphobic bullshit or posting restrictions.

A strange thought: I'm mostly aphantasic (do not experience images, sounds, etc. inside my mind). I know many people experience seeing departed loved ones when they are near death -- Bard had long conversations with their father. I wonder if I will be able to experience that, or if I'm wired wrong.
