He will always be a wild child, but he ended up doing 15 of those, and the antics slowly stopped. Took until about jump 7 or 8 though.

Pie after her workout. The wind caused her to tire as well. But a good tired.

Both Nileist and Hackleton were tired after yesterday’s workouts. They were both challenged because of the wind. Pie was too.

The drama over a little wind…

K even made Nileist repeat the jumps 15 times (the average amount of jumps in a course) to work his lift, tuck and landing. The tuck’s not tight yet, but his bascule is gorgeous.

True to how she dealt with me when I was off the wall, K did not let Nileist get away with doing nothing. He had to focus and achieve goals before untacking, even if he was too wild to ride.

Nileist was really “up” because of the wind gusts and thermals. K knew this and decided to walk him around the arena to see things, before getting on. And this happened. *evil laugh*

The wind rattled Pie too much to try the barrels. It took 20 minutes to get her balanced in her back at the walk. Notice K’s right leg dangles. She had to help Pie release her back. Then K heard the chiro snap and Pie sighed. Perhaps barrels today if wind cooperates.

Pie goes in and out of a bitless to leather bit depending. Her bars are more pointed than most horses, and sometimes cannot take a bit at all. Yesterday was one of those days.

Pie had a hard time in the wind, but tacked up once she was facing West with her lead up over her neck. She enjoys the splint boots too.

Pixie is ok with wearing my Chaskit lined sheet overnight. K was so proud that she wore my sheet. I was too. Pixie deserves it.

Surfer enjoyed staying at pasture and getting a massage and acupressure from K. His appetite is good and he runs a great deal up and down the hills with Pixie!

Hackleton was so proud of himself that he tipped K’s hat at the end of the ride. Effusive for his normally reserved horsonality!

In a bold move for Hackleton, he tackled all three barrels in the wind. And when the wing toppled a barrel in a freak gust, he spun such a perfect 180, that K felt it coming and they took off together without issue. Hackleton is the man!!

Hackleton rode very strongly as usual and was open to trying new things. The wind was up, so he was slightly energetic like I used to get, which made K giggle.

When K arrived yesterday, Hackleton was waiting to go to the arena! He continues to be the epitome of manners and eloquence!

Mare coffee pagoda is open! Wild Weds Pancakes and Waffles made by the horse of your choice! The bottomless beverage fountain has plenty of coffee, tea and juice! The date beetle orchestra plays cartoon themes!

She is just under his height. She is so strong….

Classic!

Nileist began yesterday by going to check on some of his cows and bull. Nileist speaks bull and cow. He’s learned the guttural bellows. He will not let K record him yet though.

Hackleton saw the barrels from afar, but preferred handsy time with K in his pasture yesterday. He rests and relaxes while K takes herd leadership. He’ll come to the arena today.

Surfer is going through a creative, calm and introspective time right now. He’s comfortable with the mares… And his manners have come a long way. He’s physically stronger than ever.
