When you're looking out over the snowy tundra and suddenly these two pop up out of the willows. Polar bears, especially males, will sometimes kill time while waiting for the ice to freeze with a little friendly sparring. #mammals #BearSeason2025 🌿

It's unusual to see a bloody face on a polar bear this time of year. Our bears are current nearing the end of their over 140 day fast waiting for Hudson Bay to freeze. This bear, however, must have found an unsuspecting seal along the shore. Definitely a bonus. #BearSeason2025 #mammals 🌿

Panel 6 says "Scientifically speaking, though, all pigeons are sweet babies" and there are three very cute round pigeons, a gray, white, and red one, with arrows pointing to them to make things look scientific.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Soft-focus tree ephemera and a choppy sea in grey-blue and turquoise provide a natural frame for a soaring short-eared owl (Asio flammeus), who is in sharp focus.
