I can dm you some stuff i like to watch about that it's kinda crazy. I avoid it like the plague.

I believe that's why certain denominations have gotten a start here and still hang on to that in their own way. Some states have such a strong foothold of that too

It stems back to colonial times as the US was unfortunately founded on puritanical beliefs that were extreme even for the time. That's why they were religious pilgrims as they were not even wanted in Europe. They saw even Christmas as pagan so that kind of extremism still sticks around

With Catholicism and while today it's a lot better and people are more respectful they still try to put down and correct people who have been practicing their entire lives

Because they're so scared but refuse to see that a lot of "Christian" traditions here are watered down pagan traditions that have existed for centuries.
Even with my example of santeria people see it as pure witchcraft but it's a belief system made by enslaved people who had to mix their beliefs

I believe it's a bc of how strict churches can be here that this how you must be a proper Christian that when people move away from it they bring it to other belief systems and the fear of witchcraft is so strong here that people won't even let their kids watch fantasy movies or read the books

Especially growing up with a culture that has a religion that gets demonized often (santeria) for being "witchcraft" I think they find it a cool holistic way to avoid their trauma but don't understand the historic and cultural attachments they have to others

I'm not necessarily pagan (I'm spiritual/agnostic) but I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of us witches are just trying to step away from the ingrained religious trauma they grew up with but don't realize that there's a lot of people who grew up with pagan roots culturally

I'm sorry I forgot to say I used the shampoo and mask 🙃

While I've never used that brand those color depositing shampoos do work, when I had lightened colored hair it's what I used instead of dye. I hope it works out! :)

It's like we've reinvented gender roles for ourselves and are trying to gatekeep gender exploration in a fictional setting.

I don't know what the right word for it would be but it's like they are policing gender expression, you have to identify as this in this way or it's wrong and it ends up hurting everyone, trans people, nb people and even cis people who's gender expression doesn't align with the "norm"

Myself included! Being able to be a version of myself that I can not be irl and having fun with it! I've met people who didn't even realize they were trans/nb until they played a different gender and loved it so much. That's what makes rp so beautiful to me discovering yourself with friends

I am so sorry you had to go through that. People can take decades to discover their identity and they might even change labels from time to time to find themselves fully. People need the ability to experiment to find themselves and a supportive community to do that in. There's no perfect mold for us

I play the latter and I really enjoy seeing how things have changed even in the last 5 years and the quality of the clothes and bodies have really increased. I find myself taking screenshots in mmo styles that I wish I could recreate in mmos themselves sometimes 😔 you can really be anything
