My name is Taraji. I created this account for my elderly mother (70 years old) who suffers from diabetes and nerve weakness. She lives in a crowded tent with my brother’s family, but she needs a quiet tent of her own to escape the noise and stress. 💔😞

Today I joined "The Lab" to support @radiolab.bsky.social's mission. As a linguist working at the intersection of language, culture, & disability, the episode "Voice" hit hard. The discussion of "dignity" and speech w/ @sfdirewolf.bsky.social was wonderful. Check it out share.google/uqGg3Tjp0QRc...

Black people actually did call all of this, so did Indigenous people. White people just thought we were exaggerating because you were fine with the violence toward communities that you thought wouldn't include you. But the thru line from eugenics, bleach, and Ivermectin to here was incredibly clear

We have NEW research on pregnancy-related prosecutions in the first two years after Dobbs, and there are surely more cases.

They show us that giving rights to fertilized eggs, embryos, and fetuses paves the way for people to be ARRESTED and PUNISHED for all pregnancy outcomes — beyond abortion.

If you pick up the Guardian Weekend Magazine today, please read about my daughter Milly’s battle with Lyme disease. And if you’re feeling bold, drop your copy into your local GP. There are thousands of Millys out there. Most are currently not helped at all by the NHS or, worse, not believed.

Not 'the gospel.' Ahead of Supreme Court term, Clarence Thomas weighs in on precedent As the Supreme Court is about to revisit some major decisions, Justice Thomas said there's nothing sacred about precedent.

They're going to try to overturn Obergefell and end marriage equality. Eyes wide open, folks.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Nesma. Nesma and her husband ran a small thrift store before this. She is now displaced to the South with her three children, Muhammad, 3, Alma, 2 and a baby just two months old. She is also with her parents and sister who has cerebral palsy.

"...atrocities do not begin with action; they begin with imagination, with the suggestion that some lives are worth less, that their removal might even be merciful...we survive by insisting that our lives have value, that our consent matters, and that history will not repeat if we refuse to let it."

Photo of a memorial plaque at Tiergartenstraße 4 in Berlin. The inscription reads: “Honor to the forgotten victims. At this site, at Tiergartenstraße 4, the first National Socialist mass murder was organized starting in 1940, named after this address: Aktion T4. From 1939 to 1945, almost 200,000 defenseless people were killed. Their lives were described as ‘unworthy of life,’ their murder called euthanasia. They died in the gas chambers of Grafeneck, Brandenburg, Hartheim, Pirna, Bernburg, and Hadamar; they died by firing squads, by deliberate starvation, and by poison. The perpetrators were scientists, doctors, nurses, members of the judiciary, the police, and of the health and labor administrations. The victims were poor, desperate, defiant, or in need of help. They came from psychiatric clinics and children’s hospitals, from nursing homes and welfare institutions, from military hospitals and camps. The number of victims was vast; the number of perpetrators convicted was very small.”

I know it's hard to do but you have to tune out the constant & I mean constant torrent of criticisms on social media re: activism & organizing. If you don't, it can stop you from trying to do any activism or organizing. Most of the critics aren't doing any organizing themselves so keep trying things
