Monitoring Morston farm today resulted in 35 birds. Very few summer migrants left - 6 Blackcap & 4 Chiffchaff, but autumn migrants represented by 5 Meadow Pipits. Further 3 Stonechat colour -ringed. @btobirds.bsky.social ‪

Monitoring at Sculthorpe Moor today was another quiet day, just 18 birds, with migrants:

Monitoring Stonechats at Dersingham Bog today, resulted in 10 new birds ringed and fitted with colour rings 19 to 28

Ingoldisthorpe monitoring today brought a quiet 31 birds with summer migrants much depleted:
3 Reed warbler
9 Blackcap
8 Chiff-chaff
But the surprise of the day was a Water Rail

At the end of the Nightjar season we are very proud to have completed the first year in collaboration with Natural England facilitating the study of feeding areas away from the breeding site. 20 birds ringed of which 14 were pulli, 6 GPS tags fitted with 5 retrieved, which obtaining some good data.

Monitoring Morston farm today produced 27 birds which as hoped for included 15 Whitethroats, 2 Blackcap and 2 Stonechats, both colour ringed for the project.

Monitoring Dersingham Bog for Stonechat and Nightjar last night resulted in five Stonechats, including one with fairly dark underwing, all colour ringed and a juvenile Nightjar at dusk that had not been ringed in the nest this season. @btobirds.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social

Colour ring reading at Snettisham today brought a mix of Bar-tailed, the usual Black-tailed Godwits, Knot, Turnstone and Mediterranean Gull, including one of ours from Scolt Head.

Barn Owl monitoring on the Sandringham estate, despite parts of East Anglia reporting a bad year, these boxes did well from 21 boxes, we had 15 in use, with 11 with chicks, total of 31 young, with the largest brood being 4. @btobirds.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social @wildernorfolk.bsky.social
