In his 102 years, Robert P. Madison has seen a lot. He fought racism to get into Case’s architecture school & founded Ohio’s first Black-owned architecture firm. His iconic work ranges from the Great Lakes Science Center to the U.S. Embassy in Senegal. #BlackHistoryMonth

As we start #BlackHistoryMonth, I’m thinking about one of Cleveland’s most famous sons, Jesse Owens.
His performance at the 1936 Olympics in Germany offered a stunning rebuke to white supremacy – reminding us that simply showing up can be a great act of resistance.

On this day 53 years ago, the Supreme Court issued the Roe v. Wade decision, establishing the federal right to an abortion. Nationally, we no longer have that right. But in Ohio, we organized & enshrined abortion rights in our state constitution. We have the power to come together to defend our freedoms. It’s important to remember that. Mayor Bibb!

This is why we created the Residents First program, so the city can step in & turn problem properties into places that provide quality, affordable housing that anchors neighborhoods. We know Cleveland best, so we need Fannie Mae to step aside.

Today I joined a coalition of leaders who are signing onto the Building Brighter Futures Plan. We know it won't be easy, but it's the right thing to do to make sure CMSD has the resources it needs to give every scholar the opportunities they deserve.

We’re announcing a 30-day pause on all Cleveland utility disconnections. With the govt. shut down and SNAP benefits delayed, we want families to have some breathing room. This pause is about stability, compassion, and making sure no one loses essential services.
