When people have faith that their government works for them and not just the powerful few – our entire nation is stronger. That work starts locally. Since taking office, my administration has been on a mission to make Cleveland’s government better serve the people of Cleveland. We’ve done that by improving city services, leveraging public and private funds to revitalize under-resourced neighborhoods, and building safer communities through youth programs and better, more accountable policing. I’m proud to have the support of People For the American Way in our fight to deliver the full substance of freedom, justice, and democracy to every Clevelander.

How Cleveland is working to grow the city’s middle class Cleveland is steeping up enforcement of worker-focused laws officials are hoping will help to grow the city's middle class.

My grandparents and parents belonged unions. I owe a lot to the labor movement. I'm proud of the work we've done to improve conditions for working people in Cleveland - raising wages, improving transparency, & cracking down on wage theft. And more to come. signalcleveland.org/how-clevelan...

Mary Rose Oakar served Cleveland and this country with courage and compassion. As our city’s own trailblazer—first Democratic woman from Ohio in the U.S. House, advocate for women’s health, seniors, and our waterfront—her legacy lifts us up. Rest in power.

New health clinics open in Cleveland schools. Here's where. CMSD now has a total of six in-school health clinics across the district. Two opened last year, while one has existed since 2013.

When our safety nets are under attack, local leaders have to find ways to stand in the gap.

Grateful to MetroHealth for establishing these new school-based health centers to help take care of our kids.

Mayors know how to keep our cities safe. We’ve been working with our communities to make our neighborhoods stronger & more secure. Sending the National Guard to our cities stokes fear & undermines the community trust we’ve worked hard to build.

Cleveland’s mayor wants Democrats to know millennials like him are impatient and ready to lead Justin Bibb says Democrats need to listen more to mayors. They see the impact of federal policy first-hand.

“When I ran for mayor, the establishment told me to wait my turn. We’re impatient…because we’ve experienced the crises firsthand.” — RFS alum @justinmbibb.bsky.social

That impatience? It’s leadership. And it’s exactly why we need more young voices in office.

My first campaign slogan was Cleveland Can't Wait. My generation can't wait, either. We've inherited recessions, a pandemic, a climate crisis, and out of control gun violence -- and we're impatient about finding solutions.

Thinking of the Minneapolis school shooting victims today. What makes this even harder to take is knowing that we do not have to live this way. It's a policy choice. As long as politicians in DC & Columbus prioritize the gun lobby over people – these horrific events will continue.

It’s worth remembering that this right wasn't given. It was courageously demanded by groups like the Cleveland Woman’s Suffrage Party. And now it’s on all of us to defend it.

Cleveland knows how to build safer, stronger neighborhoods.

We’ve increased funding for youth programs, created an alternative response, and made sure well-paid, accountable officers focus on hot spots.

There’s still work to do. But we have the answers right here in our city.
