What core capability is never going out of style? In a VUCA world, dealing with AI and geopolitical chaos and supply chain disruption, what skill remains relevant through it all?

Being a learner, whether as an intensely curious individual or as a learning organization

Why the attack on the Fed is misguided The attack on the Fed has been mostly a war of words (well, a one-sided one) but has included threats of overt action.

Thoughts on the importance of Fed independence

Latest talking point from the right is "tariffs are nothing new" perhaps coming from Fox News, and arguing this is just the same as has been done for decades.

Controlled burns to prevent out of control forest fires are also not new. Napalming the entire forest is different though.

Trump administration backs off Nvidia's 'H20' chip crackdown after Mar-a-Lago dinner The White House was expected to ban sales of the high-performance AI chip to China. Chinese companies had been stockpiling the chip but now the Trump administration is backing off.

There couldn't be clearer evidence that this President is transactional versus principled. Raise tariffs on China but relieve restrictions on important technology. This isn't even about China to him, just favors and deals

Lowering rates won't change that uncertainty. Because of that, it will likely not do anything to prevent recession, while allowing for more inflation.

The best thing the Fed can do is keep rates where they are until other areas of uncertain fall away. 2/2

With recession looming, there will be pressure on the Fed to reduce interest rates. However, this only works if rational decision makers are changing the math of their decisions based on said rates.

This recession is a psychological one, and one based on uncertainty. 1/2

A New Look at Director Resignation Resigning from the board can be both a vital operation for director separation and a tool for disrupting board functions for selfish reasons.

When do, and should, Directors resign from the Board of Directors?

It's important to note that you can't "run away" from problems as it's a breach of fiduciary duty. As corporate boardroom drama plays out, this should be watched.

Agreed. In exec conversations this week, rather than talk about decision making in a normal downturn, this is more like decision making during the early days of COVID, where no one knew what they were doing, the consequences massive, and we all had to learn one day at a time

Business leaders everywhere are using the word "uncertainty" which both led to the layoffs but also to delayed investments. This uncertainty is what will force us into recession.
