A screenshot from an instagram story with the caption "First you start then you get better..." There are two pictures of crocheted bees, one from the beginning of their crocheting and one from recently, showing the progress the poster has made with their crochet.
Been working on bees again for the first time since I started crocheting. It's wild to see how things have changed

Introducing one of my long term passion projects, the Hyacinth Lamp.
It includes over 45 crocheted and hand-dyed flowers, plus a fully custom base made by me. From learning how to wire a lamp to figuring out how to make a lampshade base from wire and scrap fabric, this has been a huge project
I put time/materials in to making this pattern and I pay for my listing to stay up. Making and selling a pattern costs designers money that they recoup by the income from the pattern.
I notice each sale I make. These thefts make a real, measurable difference to small designers (2/2)
With all this talk about pattern stealing, I have been thinking more about my own patterns. This Dumbo Octopus pattern is one that I made myself in my free time from work. I made multiple test versions, designed the PDF, and set a price that I thought was fair for the level of effort I put in (1/2)

I made myself a little man and some little overalls! I usually don't make too many amigurumi anymore, but I just couldn't say no to him.
The man was made using the soon-to-be-released Sploot Frog pattern from Scruffle Crochet and the overalls were freehanded by me to fit him.
Good job! I tried to do gloves once but the fingers are just too fiddly for me π

They are looking to the right of the camera and wearing a blue top with a design that looks like a framed painting of flowers on it and black pants with a white pinstripe.
It's been two years since the release of the Aurora Top by MadeByMyn and it's still one of my favorite showstopper pieces to pull out when I want to wow people! It's great as either a vest or a top on it's own, depending on how warm you want to be, and is a great way to dip your toes into colorwork!

A white woman with long blonde hair poses in front of a green garden. She is wearing a black sleeveless shirt, an orange and yellow hat that looks like flames, and an orange mask that says "WHOOSH" in green letters. She is making a whoosh hand sign (from the University of Texas at Dallas), which is similar to the a-ok hand sign.
My first pattern, modeled by my beautiful sister! This is the Flame Beanie, inspired by the mascot from our college, Temoc the comet. It's a little bit of a niche idea, but it was such a great way for me to get comfy with experimenting and writing patterns, and I continue to sell copies occasionally
22.01.2025 15:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Absolutely, it can be a struggle to find stuff that not only fits, but looks good as well. I have a whole collection of makes that I'll be posting here over the next little bit as I collect the pattern info for them, hopefully you'll be able to find some you like!

Hi everyone! I'm Tristyn, a nonbinary, plus-sized knitter, crocheter, and tablet weaver! I use ne/nem/nir and they/them pronouns. I mostly spend my time making garments for myself, often as a pattern tester for upcoming size-inclusive makes.
So happy to have you here!
