Btw along with Time Machine data, Restic also backs up the NAS configuration itself — so even in the event of a NAS or RAID failure, everything could easily be recovered

Finished setting up my 3-2-1 backup strategy after getting a new NAS:
- Time Machine backs up to the NAS with encryption enabled, so multiple users at home can safely use it.
- The NAS automatically backs up to Backblaze B2 using Restic (github.com/restic/restic).

Pros, cons, pitfalls?

A conclusion after 2 days: it's an *incredible* device. Quiet, fast & inexpensive. This is what I've self-hosted so far:
- Jellyfin for media
- Immich for photos (to not pay for Ente cloud + iCloud)
- Time Machine backups (to not pay for Backblaze)

In the last days of 2025 I was trying to pick the right NAS for the new apartment and ended up going with the four-bay UGREEN DXP4800. It finally arrived today!
Let's see if it's gonna replace Backblaze, iCloud, and all the other services I don't want to pay for anymore.

I tried Emacs, Vim, Sublime and even VSCode for quite a long time, but the truth is that nobody has invented anything better than IntelliJ IDEA (and its derivatives).
Today I finally gave up and renewed my license, paying 101 EUR (+VAT) for Ultimate.
