I get it. If China invaded the US and removed the president acting as king, I think many people would be excited, not realising the long term consequences of a super power invading and taking over like this. Scary ass times. :(

Maybe a good way to look at it is “Does this game fulfil the experience it’s aiming for? And do I like it?”

A game being declared as “good” and “bad” is always a vague assertion, usually pointing to something else that isn’t being directly addressed.

For games, I love re experiencing the tone of an experience. It gets me back to the feeling of what the tone evokes, and it’s nice to revisit. Also sometimes, the tone brings a nice vibe to whats I’m doing while listening.

Lowkey felt a bit embarrassed that I didn’t get it, esp when surrounded by people that did, but it happens.

I'm very curious to give it a go. As you describe, Mouthwashing's themes went over my head until I looked it up. Also, the fact that it's made by Italians makes me more incentivised to give it a go.

I have cereal with milk, but I add only a little bit of milk and cereal so it's still crunchy. Bit by bit is so much better than all at once. I hate soggy cereal!

Using LLMs in programming CAN be faster, but we need to stop using it to generate logic.

It should be for boiler plate, creating models from existing ones, and an easier time fixing extremely niche errors.

Something I always forget is I (and I’m assuming you) and lots of my peers are still super young. I’m 25 and I’ve got soo many years. I can’t expect myself to have it all figured out now. We all just gotta do a little step at a time, to get to where we wanna be with our dreams and careers.

Yeah, making it my career would be the goal. But for now, I am perfectly happy with my software dev job, and doing game dev when I get home. I do absolutely everything I can to stay healthy so I can have the energy for it.

Plus, my job is great enough that I can use the skills I learn for game dev.

I always wish I could quit my job to focus on game dev, but I don't think I'll be able to for a while.

I hope if I play my cards right, I can very least make it possible to quit for a few years so I can pursue it with a smaller source of income. But that requires adulting smartly. In due time.
