I agree with that. But it just seems derivative to blame critics of pride-washing for a decision that had more to do with ruling class trends and anti-LGBT complaints than anything (article cites this). Absolutely work within the system. Buy gay shit from businesses who still sell it by this June.

I understand that. But I believe leveraging spending by supporting a queer business is still a valid way to protest that attempt, any month of the year.

Organization and protest are what we have left. What better way to push a cultural zeitgeist back than to popularize other means of production?

No worries, millions of us will take our gay money elsewhere.

Shop small, shop local. Support queer businesses. It’s going to mean something this year.
