A fun thing about childhood trauma is that you will never know the kind of person you would have been otherwise. There’s no before/after. I have memories of only this mistrustful & pessimistic version of myself. There’s no sense of “if I went to therapy maybe I could slowly return to the way I was.”

Saw this spider the size of my whole palm in an underpass today. While I was busy taking pics of it, my partner was shouting, “Get away from that thing. It’s a huntsman spider, it’s venomous, and it JUMPS.”
