Susan Murray Tait: Ladies of Llangollen 1819 This is a watercolor painting that depicts the Ladies of Llangollen walking together. Both women are wearing dark cloaks with short, white wild hairstyles, giving them a cool androgynous appearance. They are shown on a pathway, emphasizing their close companionship as they walk side by side.

The Ladies of Llangollen, Eleanor Butler (1739–1829) and Sarah Ponsonby (1755–1831), were two upper-class Irish women who lived together as a couple.
The pair moved to a Gothic house in Llangollen, North Wales, in 1780 after leaving Ireland to escape the social pressures of conventional marriages.

Chase of the Wild Goose — Lurid Editions Chase of the Wild Goose is the forgotten queer novel of the 1930s – a joyful corrective to the misery of The Well of Loneliness, and amiable companion to Woolf’s time-travelling Orlando.
