This afternoon, UCSI Hospital held productive talks with the South South Diagnostic Alliance (SSDxA) to advance our ongoing collaboration. The meeting, led by SSDxA representatives Jean-Michel Piedagnel & Shaffifiyaz, focused on the co-development of a simple, home-based diagnostic test for dengue.

What a joy it was to celebrate the marriage of Muhammad Ameerun & Dr. Nur Ainin at their wedding reception in KB. Samsweet Garden provided the perfect setting for a grand & lively celebration, filled with stunning floral arrangements & warm company.

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has reached a significant milestone with the official inauguration of its new international office in Putrajaya. Delighted to reconnect with Dr. Yasser Fayed, Head of HCV at Pharco Pharmaceuticals, Egypt. Egypt has made history as the first country to receive WHO validation on its path to eliminating hepatitis C. Malaysia aims to follow this success and to achieve hepatitis C elimination by 2030.

DNDi’s journey is like a bus ride, the founding partners were the first to board & many have since gotten off. Along the way, new members have joined, keeping the mission alive & moving forward. After serving 12 yrs my stop is approaching, but I take comfort in knowing that the journey will continue

Never let a good crisis go to waste. Crisis is a privelege with opportunities. In the 2016 board retreat in Divonne, heated debates led to a groudbreaking decision, where DNDi would not only tackle neglected diseases but also neglected patients, in ensuring access, affordability & equity.

It has been an immense honor to serve as a DNDi Board member for the past 12 years. As my third and final term concludes after this board meeting, I reflect on what has been nothing short of an epic journey, one marked by collective purpose, bold decisions, and transformative impact.

I am currently attending the Drugs of Neglected Diseases initiatives (DNDi) board meeting in Geneva, led by the Chairperson Marie Paule Kieny and Chief Executive Officer Dr Luis Pizzaro.

DNDi has remained steadfast in advancing drug discovery, improving patient outcomes and accessibility.

Another day another beautiful wedding day. A heartfelt congratulations to Dr Muhammad Fadhli Bin Azmi & Dr Nur Maizura Binti Mohd Khafi wedding reception this afternoon in Putrajaya International Convention Center, Putrajaya. May the couple be blessed with with love, happiness and prosperity.

This morning, I visited the DNDi SEA Regional Office at Menara Sentral Vista, led by Ms. Vanessa Daniel. It was a pleasure to meet with Professor Suerie Moon, a The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative board member, and Dr. Els Torreele, a former DNDi board member, sharing our experience in DNDi.

Amid shifting geopolitical dynamics and tightening funding landscapes, DNDi must adapt prioritise and optimise its organisation structure and workforce to remain sustainable.

I’m pleased to participate in a dedicated DNDi Board Executive Committee meeting today, where the global board connected with the chairs and presidents from the international legal entities.
