i definitely feel that, deadlock is a deeply fascinating game to me for both its presentation & complexity, it's a game i very much *WANT* to improve at, much the same way i felt about TF2
it's just very hard to shake the bad feeling of being the *one* player not pulling their weight, every game

i feel like thats also a product of its inherently competitive nature
similar happened with TF2 when casual matchmaking just made servers... less casual? You queue, win/lose, repeat
at least in community servers there was this expectation you could goof around
perhaps it's a mindset thing.
i've only got like 100 hours in the game so of course i suck, but i feel like i'm eternally grinding until i start being Good At It
when will that be? at 500 hours? 1k? 2k?
i've got like 2k in TF2 and i sure as heck dont feel Good At It
maybe improving at a game is just an inherently Sisyphean task
