It was a last minute one tbh. The speaker for tonight pulled out last week so they asked if I could fill. I’m sure you will have a heard a fair bit of the content before.

Reminded me I need to get a new copy of ‘Stand’ by Sly. Am also trying to work out which Van Morrison album to single out for your next issue - near impossible choice from a run starting at Moondance right through to Poetic Champions!

My son is playing a school show with his band on Thursday and at the heart of their set is a cover of 'Wonderwall' by Oasis. I felt compelled to share this short monologue - written some years ago looking back on my time in the Eighties as a 'new talent scout' for a regional music/arts publication.
