Hello fellow Baxendale! πNice strong surname π
My version of wild is introducing coloured stains into my work that I have not tested previously so I have no idea what pieces look like until they emerge from the kiln ππ€·π»ββοΈπ
Colour feels scary but I think I sort of like it? What do you think?
Ahh thank you so much! π

One of 12 in the collections, this 'magic' potato was donated by a Mr Burgess, Clerk of Works at Oxford University in 1897. Carried for years in pockets (the ultimate jacket potato), potatoes were thought to be a cure for rheumatism - the only catch, they had to be stolen first to be most effective!

I should probably introduce my studio manager Rigsby πΈ
You'll probably see a fair amount of him because I'm obsessed, I mean look at his face?! π
Rigs loves being in front of the camera almost as much as he loves cuddles (this photo was not staged π)
Anyone else have a fluffy studio manager?

Photographed is a Porcelain sculpture inspired by an automatic drawing in the artists sketchbook. It is black and white to reflect the feel of a sketch with the occasional gold elements. Detail has been carved and built and enhanced by staining. Faces and shapes emerge from leaves. Sculpture is by Lucy Baxendale and photograph was taken by Dan Barker
Hello Bluesky π I'm a ceramicist & Illustrator translating automatic drawings into 3D & basically living in my own little world π
Still getting my head around *new twitter* as people are calling it, but expect posts about ceramics, cats, art & probably some silly musings here and there π€·π»ββοΈ
