Always lovely when someone takes the time to comment on a story. Thank you, Lillie. I do like how First Date turned out, the way the ugliness creeps up, inch by inch... hngrmtn.org/issues/hngr-...

They canβt take it back now, its been officially announced with my picture and everything. Iβm a finalist for a Tennessee Williams Prize!
Teenage me, who devoured Tennesseeβs oh so queer plays, would cry at this honour. Maybe today me too.
Results soon but finalist is already wild dream territory

Ah thank you. I wasnβt trying to create a twist, more a growing sense of not-rightness that finally reveals its full ugly face

New story out: First Date, in the wonderfully eclectic pages of the wonderfully named Hunger Mountain. Like many first dates, this doesn't end where you hope it will. Its dark, explores pornography and control, and you might not like who you end up sat opposite. Have fun!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR OF THE HORSE EVERYONE

Really very moved by how people are responding to Siouxsie, Susan, Robert and Me. It's a leap into the dark for me but it's not so bad here, this dark. missourireview.com/jaime-gill/
06.02.2026 01:49 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Being a writer is the most embarrassing thing in the world! I write down the entire contents of my soul for validation! And then some editor will just be like no thanks!

Siouxsie, Susan, Robert & Me - my one and only creative non-fiction story - is in the Missouri Review. I canβt believe it.
Itβs about me, my late mother, the music and alcoholism we shared, and our different fates.
Sad, beautiful, honest. My life story in 1000 words

Yep. This tracks.
I think I might compile a list of surefire signs you are dealing with a moron.
People who say βitβs as simple asβ is another one - it is always followed by an opinion on an incredibly complex matter, something that is anything but simple
Genuine question. Has anyone ever encountered someone saying βdo the researchβ who genuinely could have explained but chose not to? Have you, perhaps?
Or is it always a blustering cover for someone not knowing what they are talking about (which is my working theory)?
they should make a movie series about how itβs irresponsible to use technology to mess with the natural order of things for profit

"Now everyoneβs heads are like wasp nests buzzing with alarmβthe blustering abroad, the vengeance at home, the ever-metastasizing conspiracy theories."
Yet another haunting and deeply poignant story by the talented @jaimegill.bsky.social. I wish this one felt more like fiction.
