If it’s about “risking your life for others” there are other jobs that do, who we don’t have some weird obligation to thank all the time. Thanks for picking a job that has a very low likelihood of personal harm and some pretty good benefits but is ultimately part of a very icky system.

Why does everyone feel the need to thank veterans for their service? Like I’m not patriotic in the slightest and that influences my view but even if I was, why? It’s just their job. Most people in the military aren’t even in any particular danger.
