It’s really funny, too, because by megacorp standards *someone* always has to be on the chopping block even if they aren’t doing poorly. This isn’t even decided by people but by an equation or algorithm. We traded our futures for the ability to treat someone working at a fast food shop like shit.

I remember when I was a teenager we were told that the minimum wage could never be raised because it would force small business owners to close up shop. Well we’re in 2025 and now they’re closing up shop anyways due to megacorps, and the wages aren’t any better but work days are longer.
