P2 have been super busy this week! We explored odd and even numbers, went on a number hunt, and received another royal letter from Queen Camilla asking us to build castle models for her museum—of course we accepted! Well done to L who read a story to us! 👏🏼. Plus lots of super play in the area 👑🏰✨

Primary 2 and 3 had a great time planting daffodil bulbs today 🌼. We used all our strength to dig the soil deep enough and even found some worms along the way! We can’t wait to see these bloom over the next few weeks ☀️.

P5 had a delightful afternoon joined by our P1 and P2 friends, planting bulbs in the grass outside our school. We can’t wait to see the beautiful flowers in the warmer days 🌼

P2 have started learning about what plants need to grow and thrive. We learned about the parts of a plant and what jobs they do. We created our flower pictures including sun, water and soil.

Over the past few weeks, primary 2 have been learning a variety of different information handling methods for sorting and reading information.

Mrs Reynolds spoke to us about play today and explained how play enhances our learning and allows the children to choose what learning they’d like to do. Our pupils are so lucky to have their own indoor areas to support their learning. @carronshoreprimary.bsky.social 🐝

At assembly today three of our hedgehog ambassadors were given a certificate. They have been going round other schools telling them about the work they’ve been doing to support hedgehogs. Well done. @carronshoreprimary.bsky.social 🐝

ELC: The children love being invited to a YMI gathering. Lots of fun and a great way to develop a love of music. 🎶

Our teachers were busy during today's in-service day. An enjoyable and thought provoking morning at LHS then off to some workshops around the cluster.

We presented to cluster colleagues about our 'learning spaces & play provocations' and about our 'DIY approach'

P7 explored the mindbending properties of a Möbius strip, then problem-solved their way through the steps needed to create 2 interlocking hearts 💕

What a fantastic week in Primary 2! Shaving foam phonics, spelling the word because (wow!), castle building in the block area and making music on our new stage. So much creativity and learning happening! ✨🏰🎤 #playfullearning #metaskillsinaction

P3 have been exploring forces! 🔍

We worked in small teams to create a ramp for a toy car. We hoped that when we applied a push force on the car, it would increase in speed and distance compared to pushing on a flat surface!

Every afternoon these children continue to develop their independence brushing their teeth. Yesterday Childsmile (from the NHS) came in to support our toothbrushing. The ladies were very impressed with the children’s efforts 👏🦷🪥.

These children had fun exploring the infant and junior areas 😁.

There have been lots of amazing achievements in P5 already this term! 🌟🐝👏

P5 had a brilliant afternoon at the P5-7 Burns Supper. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We learned about Robert Burns and wrote The Immortal Memory, performed Scots poems, sang Scottish songs and enjoyed lots of food and Irn Bru. 😋

P5 enjoyed a visit from Forth Valley Sensory Centre earlier this term. We learned about sight loss, hearing loss and BSL.

Many thanks to our hedgehog ambassadors who spoke to the pupils at Bankier on Friday 🐝

Following the children’s interests, we made fruit smoothies this afternoon 😋. We developed lots of skills including: peeling, rinsing, cutting, measuring and pouring. We also discussed how to use a blender safely. A healthy refreshment to end our week 😁. Well done everyone 👏.

P7 are starting to think about genetics 🧬

We began by discussing the physical characteristics of cats, and what might be the same or different depending on their genes...

Then it was time to make Mrs N's new pets! 🐾🐾 🐝✨
