Sounds weird to say, but the Pistons are on pace to win 43 games this, and 47 games if you are looking from November 1st.
Who predicted a 47 win season this year?

You know ball

This is another game you hope the guys come out and prove they start to really separate themselves from the bottom of the league, especially as this gets them to .500.
18-19 season when we got BG? We started that season pretty well if I recall.

I think youβd be excited taking 2 of the next 3.

Iβm starting the Stew for All-NBA defense agenda now.
4th in DRtg for centers. (Min 10 GP)
2nd in DFG% for centers (Min 10 GP)
Leading a team that was ranked 25th in Drtg last year to now top 10. Heβs in the 80th percentile for differential on On/Off with a +8.9.
Give this man his flowers.
Stew put up a 80 DRtg last night in 24 minutes. Thats so nasty. On top of that he put up nearly the highest ORtg as well (though it was pretty bad all around for the team).
We need to give Stew his flowers, he IS the team defensive identity so far.
Idk yaβll the Pistons just look so much better with Stew man.
16.11.2024 00:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the most staggering thing isn't the defense, it's the offense. Duren is having a worse offensive season than last year which is going to exaggerate the differences since we knew his defense wasn't near Stewart's level.
15.11.2024 17:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Opponent NetRtg over the last 10 games:
Detroit: -0.5 (16th)
Toronto: -7.0 (24th)
Washington: -12.0 (28th)
Chicago: -5.4 (22nd)
Charlotte: -5.9 (23rd)
Orlando: 3.3 (11th)
Good luck, we're making this our new home!

15.11.2024 16:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tbf, according to NBA tracking, Cade is in the 11% in transition efficiency with a 0.81 PPP. Part of that is likely he doesn't get calls, but it's by far his worst playtype.
15.11.2024 15:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wish I was coding games this season, Duren has a crazy TO% for his usage, but I wonder if it's worse with him as the ball carrier, versus him in an action on offense.
He's 5th in TOV% for players below 15% usage (out of 75 players)
One thing I hope to see improve over the course of the season is consistent halves. In the last 5 games, the Pistons have come out with much less energy.
Detroit Pistons 1H Defense (DRtg): 95.2 (!?) 1st in the NBA
Detroit Pistons 2H Defense(DRtg): 126.8 (!?) 29th in the NBA
My hope is if we can gain a bit of momentum in the first two games. Raptors and Wizards may be the teams struggling most in the East, if we can play like we have against stronger opponents, maybe we can carry the momentum forward.
15.11.2024 15:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Definitely fair, based on our current record we're 5-5 against teams below .500.
One positive out of these 6 teams we won't be playing elite wing talent with our current injuries.
Pistons next 6 games, 5 of which are also against sub .500 teams, and the one above .500 won't have their best player. Pistons currently sit 5-8, what would you expect their record to be after the next 6?

14.11.2024 20:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cade Cunningham has 122 FGA on drives this year, which puts him at 2nd in the NBA, only trailing SGA by 2 FGA. 3rd highest is 94 FGA, or a 28 FGA gap.
Cade is 10th in total FTA from drives. Guys like Franz Wagner, James Harden, Ant, Cam Thomas all have higher FTAs even with 40-50 less FGA.
NBA: Pistons
NFL : Lions
NHL: Wings
College: Western Michigan
WNBA: Fever
Soccer: MalmΓΆ FC
I really mainly talk NBA tho!
It is if you like Basketball! π
14.11.2024 17:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sure, I think Iβd be less concerned if this was a one off game, as Iβd expect Giannis to get a bunch of calls anyway.
My problem is, Cade is 5th in the league in drives, and if comparing to the top 25 PPG scorers, only Donavan Mitchell and Curry average less FTA/gm.
Pistons had 49 drives vs 49 drives from the Bucks last night.
Pistons had 37 shots in the RA vs 31 from the Bucks last night.
Bucks had 25 FTs vs 13 for Detroit (2 of them being technical FTs)
I know Giannis will get calls, you can't stop him, but Detroit has to get calls eventually.
