April was a nice month:
1. Went to Spain for a workshop on nature writing + kid lit. (Learned a lot and fell in love with the architecture of Catalunya).
2. A teeny tiny cli-fi story of mine was published in the IIC Quarterly.

Egyptian Blue Bes ceramic Statue from the British museum shop, kind of looks like a tiny suspicious bear? He's adorable

A middle Egyptian turquoise hippo from the met. He looks despondent and adorable. He has line art of reeds painted on his back and face.

A ceramic baby rattle from the met shaped like a pig. However it doesn't look much like a pig, it's giving creature saying ooooooo. It's adorable.

Every museum should have a Little Guys Tour, and at the end of the tour you can buy reproductions of all the little guys

Rally enjoyed this week's @strangehorizons.bsky.social reviews. We kicked off with a rare appearance of the Two Views format, from Akankshya Abismruta and Areeb Ahmad - both making their SH debut - on @gigiganguly.bsky.social's Biopeculiar. I love these for how they help show the breadth of a book.

Today, the 20th meeting of the Delhi Science Fiction Reading Circle, was a special one. Hometown author @gigiganguly.bsky.social dropped by for a discussion of BIOPECULIAR, a collection of climate fiction short stories featuring the non-human world, from sentient clouds to corvid inspectors.

I think my favourite stories from BIOPECULIAR are 'Cocoon', which captures the banter of atel Bangali upper middle class bros w/ hilarious precision, & 'The Golden Bird', an allegory of living under the shackles of ethnonationalism (i.e. modern India), with a dragon at its heart.

I wrote these stories over the course of a year or two. A few story ideas came to me via podcasts/news articles. Two or three stories were born because of their titles. And then there were those that took form because of something someone said.
