Late ‘70s Cap is some of my favorite Kirby ever. By that point in his career he’s still a force but he don’t give a crap so the results are bananas and also we got Peeper.
I've been intermittently reading this era of post-cancellation 70s X-Men for a bit (currently reading when Beast joins the Avengers) and there's just something about it that tickles my fancy. I recently bought a copy of Cap Annual #4 and it makes me so happy

X-Men United #1 is a really messy book which fails to live up to its premise, visually or narratively. As always, @adamreck.bsky.social zeroes in on the heart of the problem with aplomb (and to be clear, the problem is not "Wolf Cub").
