On behalf of the Chicago Art Deco Society, Rare Nestโ€™s Keith Bringe submitted a Landmark Suggestion for 5022-5024 North Sheridan Road, Big Chicks Bar and Tweet Restaurant, an important Art Deco / Streamline Modern design from 1937 and an important site for the LGBTQ community.

Signed, dated. gouache, ink and watercolor on illustration board mounted on additional cardboard backing with extensive notations in the artistโ€™s hand describing the characters depicted in the image โ€“ Additional notes en verso โ€“ (dated 1935).

David Burliuk, Untitled (Flower Pot), Watercolor and pastel on previously printed paper (see image below) of Russian postrevolutionary era artwork. David Burliuk (1882-1967) was a central figure in the history of the Russian avant-garde movement as an accomplished poet, art critic, and exhibition organizer.  "He was one of the world's first hippies, and painted the words 'I Burliuk' on his forehead and stood on street corners reciting poetry."
