here's how to color a worm. since I only draw on one layer, painting directly over the blue and orange creates interesting tints.

A scanned image of a sketchbook featuring a text-laden comic. Text in the first panel reads "Let's speak plainly. I like to tell a joke. I enjoy people laughing at something funny I did or made or said. I intend this. When I don't intend it, I pretend I did." In this panel, a wolf is shown against a background of brick speaking to a laughing audience, stating, "Where am I? Which way to the restroom?"

In the next panel, text reads "There are also things I am angry about that I am trying to draw attention to. This is often 3, 5 times deep into a joke from the surface level." Below this text, a wolf regards a book open on a librarian's pedestal, remarking "You photocopied a book from a kindle??" which another wolf look one with a sense of devious accomplishment.

In the next panel, text reads "When such a statement is revealed after the laughter, after the humor has opened a place in one's heart, it's a good as a labyrinth. Time and space to lower defenses and receive a message deep inside, to contemplate one's own self, to think on it. The laughing wolf from the previous panel is found at the end of a floor labyrinth, doubled over with emotion at an open book. The other wolf from the previous panel looks on, twiddling his fingers deviously.

The final panel depicts a Venn diagram with two overlapping circles. The left circle reads "Humor as a disarming device" the second reads "presenting ideas as a funny cartoon animal" in the overlapped area, the author's fursona, a simply drawn cartoon wolf, winks at the viewer.

Another software dev lmao. I’m grateful for a career where I get to solve problems and write code, that stuff is fun, but I’m not passionate about it, which is reflected in my slow job growth (I’m not a β€œsenior” dev but should be at this point >.>)

Relistened to the entire Hunters Unlucky audiobook (written by @alhilton.bsky.social !), and while there are lots of things I could say about it i will keep things short and just say that this book ALWAYS makes me want to draw these little guys. Gotta love xenofiction πŸ’–

Haha. Maybe I would follow though on ideas more if I could more easily manipulate their scaling.

26.11.2025 18:54 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The idea being, you use the bare bones character maker to generate a preview, and then you pay for the opportunity to download a PSD. If I approach the art right from the beginning I could offer SVG for those who want to manipulate scaling.

26.11.2025 18:51 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

So the best way to offer reasonable file sizes I think is to have someone fill out a form - with character maker, even - that specifies which parts to include in the PSD file. So that’s a whole programming project on its own. One that requires I have a website, and a way to sell and use license keys

26.11.2025 18:47 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Then there’s the nature of lineless art - I am less likely to expect my buyers to know how coloring lineless works, and would need to include separate detail and shading layers probably for *every individual body part*. So that’s, whatever insane number of layers this was going to take anyways, x2-3

26.11.2025 18:47 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

First, there’s just the nature of rokobo being extremely variable in shape, in order to feel like I am doing the concept justice I’d probably need at least 3 separate versions. It’s just one of those things where I cannot make it easy on myself lol.
