Adoptions and Gender Reassignment Important update: Important update Sullivan review: process change for re-assigning gender and sex identity in the GP record An independent review published by Professor Alice Sullivan that looked at data, statistics and research on sex and gender has identified a serious safeguarding risk in the current process of re-assigning gender and sex identity in medical records for children and young people. In response, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has directed that the process for changing NHS numbers and gender markers for children and young people under 18 is stopped with immediate effect. New adoption, Gender Reassignment, and sensitive patient enquiry You can use this online form to tell us about: • a patient that has been adopted • a patient that wishes to amend their gender on their GP registration • a query regarding restricted access to the PDS/Spine Existing adoption, Gender Reassignment, and sensitive patient enquiry

Update.
The PCSE form for GPs to update a patient’s NHS gender marker have been suspended. There’s a notice on the site about the Sullivan Review, and the form link defaults to “This page is currently unavailable”.

Building our stories around our real and holistic existences and experiences. Bring both our joy and the very real frustrations we face. Our multifaceted stories are vital to change the narratives and discourses but they need to be heard - both in and out of the institution.

Just listened to @naomijacobs.bsky.social on how we do research & which stories gets heard at #SocRelResponse2025 it reminded me again that we need to tell all disabled & Neurodivergent stories. We need to tell angry stories, sad stories, stories that don't fit the "good" disabled person narrative.

There are sensible ways for Police to make enquiries of six young women and any plans they were discussing.
Raiding a place of peaceful worship in this manner is not one of them.
This is just dreadful as a violation of a place of faith., in my view.

I am disabled by my body. I am not only disabled by society. Even if we fixed all of the societal ableism, my body would still disable me, and I think sometimes disability activism forgets this part.
