Yea, writing historical fiction can be a challenge to balance reader's expectations of the time based on other media, historical accuracy, and also just... letting yourself not get too bogged down in either of those things and just having a bit of fun.

Early morning walk in the snow! We had a great stroll. Laszlo especially, who ate his fill of snow (and then some) on the journey, and yelled at everyone shoveling their driveways.

I once wrote a 1920s erotic mystery on another penname and someone said it was poorly researched because "women in the 20s didn't go to university" and also "women in the 20s didn't have sex without marriage". Both provably false when looking at contemporaneous sources, but kinda bummed me out.

I keep meaning to make time for this one.

Long before I became a professional author, I wrote for fun. At times we wrote millions of words a year of pure dreck, just because it was fun to do so.

I don't understand why anyone would get into the arts if they didn't enjoy the process. There's easier and more guaranteed ways to earn money.

I typically follow the flow of time as I go between the FMC and MMC chapters, but I wanted to try experimenting with adding tension and having the same event told through both perspectives.
