All I have to say about the election results is this.

If you’re unhappy with the change in government + you get promised tax cut, I’m asking you consider give it to us.

$50 buys a petrol card.
$100 pays toward a power bill.
$200 buys a school uniform for next year.

Alright: given everyone's so interested in the data search engine from yesterday -

(A) if you're looking for *online, free, or open datasets* to do science, where do you look? What are the most common sources or databases?

(B) what field are you in?

Re-up this pls, let's help each other.

Using OSF for your research: Where to start?

My recent talk on some of the many ways researchers can use Open Science Framework (OSF) was written up as a case study. You can read it here: digitalresearchservices.ed.ac.uk/research-in-...

Photo of the sun about to set, taken from the beach. A person is in the distance playing in the ways View of the Canning River on a sunny day, with the old, brick Swan Brewery building in the foreground View of the Perth skyline across the Swan River on a crisp winter morning. The reflection of the highrise buildings is reflected in the still water. Beautiful beach with white sand and clear blue water on a sunny and still day.

Less than two weeks left in Perth! A year and a half in and I still can't get over how beautiful it is. I'm going to miss this incredible country, especially the beaches!

This is neat! Doesn't work so well with hyphens unfortunately - missed self-injury and has combined non-suicidal and suicidal

Guessing my reach is going to be pretty low here right now, BUT, in case: We're hiring a project coordinator for my new NIMH Funded R01 at RTI International. Review of applications starts next week! Job listing here:

#HiSciSky! I'm a psychology researcher focusing on understanding the role emotion plays in self-injury. I also get excited about cognition, meta-science, and how schools and unis can support mental health.

Love this.
The "memory palace" technique, often traced back to ancient Greece, relies on links between memory & spatial processing. Here's a study highlighting the effectiveness of a related Australian Aboriginal technique, tens of thousands of years older.
