Tuberculosis and the Fatal Beauty of Romanticism | ASM.org Dying for beauty: Tuberculosis (TB) shaped the Romantic ideal—delicate, ethereal and tinged with mortality. Examine how TB influenced Romantic Period fine arts and how that influence is felt today.

Why do we still study tuberculosis?

I am excited to share that our latest work is now available as a preprint on BioRxiv.
In this study, we describe and characterize a Pglyrp1-Cre mouse model and uncover previously unappreciated heterogeneity among Pglyrp1-expressing cells across mucosal lymphoid tissues.

As a mentor, my role is to support and guide, not to shape decisions that belong to the trainee. She knows I will always be there for whatever she may need moving forward, and I wish her all the best in what comes next.

Last week, my rotation student completed her 8-week stay in the lab. It was a genuine joy to mentor such a bright, curious, and motivated scientist.
We spent a lot of time discussing science, research paths, and what it means to grow as a scientist.

Nasal Vaccines and the Future of Immunization | ASM.org Nasal vaccines trigger both mucosal and systemic immune responses to protect against respiratory infections. However, developing them requires overcoming barriers inside and outside the nose.

Excellent article about the challenges and opportunities of nasal vaccines. Airway transmitted diseases like SARS-CoV-2, influenza, or Mycobacterium tuberculosis cause millions of cases and deaths around the world.

If you don’t get your child vaccinated against measles, it can put them at a high risk of this serious infection, which can lead to severe complications or even death.

Make sure your child’s measles vaccination is up to date.
