Two days of flipping rocks at Torquay beach has really paid off for myself and @kieope.bsky.social , with our best two tidepooling sessions we’ve had yet. 11 lifers and many other good species found! Couldn’t pick just 4 for pics so more in comments #rockpooling #wildlife #sealife #devon
March kicked off with a couple nice geese and my our first jumper of the year! Ive been a tad bad at keeping up with postings recently lol

i found an exciting weevil at Otter Estuary today called the Gorse Weevil, i’ve seen the species before at Dawlish Warren but i could never get tired of them!
A couple birds from today, unfortunately no water pipits for us at otter estuary, however the spoonbills showed fantastically. #devonbirds
Too small for YLG? Maybe too pale as well? Idk other ID features other than that. Could it be the continental herring gull subspecies?
Had a pretty good January with @kieope.bsky.social !
Lots of good birds, highlights - slav grebe, BNG, whitefronts, spotshank, purple sands, BTD, little gulls, casps, velvet scoter, black redstart, goldeneye, razorbill, whimbrel, & RTDs.
Hopefully many more good birding months to come! #devonbirds
Today @wildweevils.bsky.social and i went to Decoy Country Park in Newton Abbot and saw a group of 3 Treecreepers, which were a lifer for me! They were amazing to watch! We also got a Marsh Tit which we saw for half a second aha!

A few more pics, and a second bird in pic 4, perhaps the bird I saw on the 27th? Didn’t get good quality pic of this bird unfortunately #devonbirds
Lovely afternoon in Brixham harbour, if a little wet! January’s nemesis bird of BTD finally defeated after about 5 attempts lol. And cracking views of the best larus. #devonbirds
Finally I’ve seen a caspian gull!! A terrible bus ride to brixham today was worth it for my first lifer of the year, spotted by @kieope.bsky.social
Also a nice razorbill feeding in the harbour
#devonbirds
Had a lovely day in Exmouth yesterday with @kieope.bsky.social! Some nice birds, and had 2 little gulls from the train off teignmouth which was cool

Well one of them did!
I wonder if it will stick around till tmr morning
Did the @rspb.bsky.social big garden birdwatch yesterday morning, and some gulling at @warrenbirding.bsky.social which produced less than hoped, but still a couple subad LBBG’s and at least one kittiwake close in off the seawall
#devonbirds
