To elaborate, the youngest is just one and a half and she is very ill. Because they are displaced, because that country bombed their home, it is hard to maintain sanitary conditions.
If anyone happens to have a generous sum of money they can pay very quickly: chuffed.org/project/1223...
I’m exhausted that we decent people have to carry all this because world leaders won’t stand up to *that country*
It can be hard to deal with the truth of being unable to help someone, because you are in a tricky financial situation (it’s temporary, I can’t access my main account right now) and they urgently need help for their small child in Gaza. It’s just heavy right now.

Every time you see a fox it’s the best thing that happened to you that day.
You can map Keir Starmer's trip around Cork today based off road resurfacing and power washing.

Get in boys, we’re doing another Galipoli!
Yuck. Sorry that happened ♥️
It's bouncy wildlife time! Here's an Irish Stoat on our wildcam down in the bog meadow - Irish/Manx stoats are smaller than their UK cousins & keep their brown coats through the Winter - more info@ www.vincentwildlife.ie/species/iris... #IrishWildlife #IrishFauna #IrishStoats

Pray for people in Gaza who are forced to evacuate their flimsy tents because of another bombing raid from that country. The cruelty of it. They deserve a break.

Wondering how I can get The Planter's Daughter more widely distributed in bookshops in Ireland, and possibly UK. Or find some way of getting more copies flowing out there. I email bookshops but often get no reply. If anyone is interested in stocking a book praised by the Irish Examiner, it's here:

I totally empathise with Mary Costello’s distress here as she admits the horrors of Gaza have frozen her creative impulse. However I would say that my friend Wafaa Alothmani, writing as a displaced citizen in Gaza, has a gentle clarion call in her article “Why I Write”. (Link in reply)
The absolute cruelty of the US and Israel in this war is spirit-breaking. Heedless, wanton destruction and vindictiveness. All I can do is pray that their time will be over soon.
Nothing like some sunshine and spring flowers to lift the spirits on days when there's a lot of sad news in the world.
Not a particularly rare book, but this first edition of Gill's Irish Reciter from 1905 has a very handsome cover design. Tá téacsanna as Gaeileg ann chomh maith. thebookshop.ie/j-j-o-kelly-...

Oooof ;)
I would go further. I would say that the praise of “spare prose” and “not a word wasted” has its roots in eating-disordered thinking which in Irish history particularly links back to post-famine generational trauma.
I discovered the Lee Road a few months ago and it’s a gorgeous ride
