Princess Aura from Flash Gordon in a golden getup slightly sneering at the main character looking ridiculously toxic yet gorgeous at the same time. Okay I’m a weak man okay? This is my kryptonite.

Flash! Ahaaaa! Sometime in the 80s 😁

I‘m warming up to it near the end of episode 2. Some parts are quintessential Guy Ritchie, there is a dash of RDJ‘s Sherlock Holmes in there. I am certainly intrigued enough to continue.

Favourite German small towns are of course: Lieblos & Linsengericht

Have you ever watched Der Tatortreiniger? Absolutely brilliant show and highly recommended!

If you haven’t started with the series yet, you should definitely give it a try. I’ve been reading this series since the beginning and Seanan always delivers!

The cover of JITTERBUG by Gareth L Powell features a stylised rocket silhouette at the centre of an orrery, with a space suited figure dangling in its wake

THANK YOU for helping me launch Jitterbug with all your good wishes and reposts today! Hugely appreciated!

I hear you. I grew up in the part of Germany that was officially designated as the battleground in the USSR’s war plans if they ever rolled in with their tanks. And, of course, as ground zero for nuclear strikes. I’ll turn 50 soon — that was our childhood. It was the constant.

Scrubs (2026) Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, and Donald Faison in Scrubs (2026)

#scrubs

Scrubs meant a lot to me. Whether you’re going through grief, a break-up, or just struggling at work, there’s an episode that understands it.

And now they’re back. The revival brings the wit, heart, and those perfectly timed emotional gut-punches it always did so well. Go treat yourself!

It was a deeply moving episode. I rather appreciated seeing more emotional depth and backstory to the Doctor, tragic though it was. On the whole, the programme is steadily growing on me.

Welche Rolle spielen hier die verbleibenden US Streitkräfte?

Two guinea pigs dressed as Wirt and Greg from Over the Garden Wall. The brown guinea pig wears a red conical hat and a blue cape. The blonde, black, and white guinea pig wears a teapot made from paper on her head. A ceramic bluebird and a picture of a frog sit next to them on a sage green towel.

The Fascination campaign has passed $4500, so here are the guinea pigs, adventuring over the garden wall to check out the fantastical and creepy stories from Fascination.

The cover of FUTURE'S EDGE by Gareth L Powell shows a figure looking out over some ruined buildings. A large planet hangs in a yellow sky.

It’s been a year since Future’s Edge was released. Booklist wrote: “Powell, who has two BFSA awards for best SF novel, might need to clear shelf space for a third. His new novel is, to put it simply, marvellous. It’s also a perfect novel to introduce sf readers to this vibrant storyteller.”

An abomination! Or as we say „wie kann man so sein?“ what’s next, not nibbling the edges of a Jaffa cake? Eating Nutella on bread without butter?

We are truly fortunate to be able to test for this quickly now. I remember I had the corona and flu combo ones back during the height of the pandemic. I hope the flu passed quickly and without complications for your daughter.

For sure! Corona testing also ensured that testing / detection numbers increased significantly.

So cases would often have been documented as:
common cold
upper respiratory tract infection
bronchitis
bronchiolitis

So, that was the result I came up with when I dug a little deeper into this via the German sites and ran a number of searches in early 2025 when this came up in a discussion.

The reason older numbers often look low is mainly because testing and surveillance used to be limited. In many countries, RSV was not a notifiable disease, and monitoring was often voluntary or bundled into influenza sentinel systems. That means reporting was inconsistent and incomplete.

Infektionsradar Die aktuelle Situation von Corona und anderen Atemwegserkrankungen in Deutschland.

Germany publishes RSV incidence data from July 2023 onwards via the Infektionsradar:

RSV itself isn’t new. It was first identified in 1956 and has been circulating for decades.

Let’s assume it’s not decided unless observed. So, Schroedinger‘s Banana Bread?

We have seen or heard nothing 🥸 (I hope it was delicious. Or not 😉, of course)

As someone who holds Deep Space Nine close to his heart, this was wonderful. A lovely tribute by two fantastic writers, and beautifully acted throughout.

One of my favorite tidbits from this development is that not only did grass start growing in the desert for the first time, but that it grew so tall to the point it started covering the solar panels and becoming a massive issue, and the best solution was to just let sheep eat the grass.

Hier sieht man übrigens genau die Gefahr der automatisierten Gesichtserkennung

Und genau deshalb brauchen wir in der EU strenge Regeln zu automatisierter Gesichtserkennung. Damit es nicht zB wie bei ICE abläuft
