First and foremost, alt text must always be informative and descriptive of the content in the image. It can have character and humor, but it still needs to be informative and descriptive. Alt text is not a place to add easter eggs or jokes for sighted users.

Absolutely! I live in a long-term care unit of a hospital, and we sometimes have to wear masks in the hall due to outbreak conditions in other units, although most wear them regardless. I would love to have you on my podcast if you're willing. #21stCenturyDisability

It’s hard to believe in 2026 people are still asking “did you mask before covid?” As some kind of gotcha.

When things change, you adapt.

When you learn, you change your behaviour.

If I had known an N95 could prevent illness this effectively, I would have worn one sooner!

For many autistic people, being “easy” meant being quiet about discomfort. That silence had a cost.
👉 What did you stop minimizing over time?
A quiet repost can help this reach someone who needs it.

@andrewgurza.ca is one of the strongest disabled advocates out there because of his ability to speak out or comment on subjects because they are sensitive subjects. If you are not following him and his work, you need to change that. #21stCenturyDisability #DisabilityAwareness
