This is a great point.
We should be the most attractive organization for coaching prospects, but with this presser of finger-pointing and scapegoating, we've been taken down a few notches instead. All they needed was some transparency and ownership for bad decisions.

They couldn't even do that.

I feel like this is the math central to the decision.

Josh's window isn't perpetual - let's get that Lombardi while we can.

Posted this on the other site last night when I couldnโ€™t sleep. Might as well post it here too:

Officials seemingly shifted the DPI standard in Bills-Broncos overtime Through 60 minutes of regulation in Saturday's Bills-Broncos game, not a single flag was thrown for pass interference.

The officials called a pair of game-deciding DPI fouls against the Bills in overtime. If the same standard had been applied late in regulation, when Riley Moss apparently interfered with Brandin Cooks, the Bills may have won.

Not just inconsistent, but I would argue biased.

Inconsistent would mean each team sees roughly the same amount of these arbitrarily odd calls in either direction.

Instead, they largely go AGAINST us, game after game, year after year.

Officiating HAS to improve or fans will give up watching.

If itโ€™s an INT because Cooks didnโ€™t โ€œsurvive the ground,โ€ then the Mims TD isnโ€™t a TD. If itโ€™s DPI on Tre then itโ€™s DPI on the DB on Cooks in the endzone. The only thing the NFL is ever good at is being horribly inconsistent/incompetent in the biggest moments. #BillsMafia

Was it worth it NFL? You could have called in to overturn the incorrect call but thought it would be cute to let the Broncos have it. Well now what?

Thankfully, refs and New York and "every rules lawyer" never make mistakes then double down on their decisions, only to be roasted by the professional football analysts all week long afterward.
Good that never happens.

The ball was held tightly to his chest - even while rolling.

So what, in your view, keeps the play alive even though HE has the ball, is on the ground, and was touched by the defender BEFORE he began to pull it away?

He was down. Sorry.

18.01.2026 02:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

But he always touched while down.
The play doesn't extend so the defender can just take the possession away after being down by contact.

18.01.2026 02:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

He cannot fulfill item C because he is down by contact.
This is true for any tackled receiver.

18.01.2026 02:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Really?
So at what precise moment was the receiver down?

He caught the ball, knee on the ground, and was touched by a defender while still holding the ball.
It's done there. That's the method used to spot the ball even.

Stripping the ball after isn't an INT.

That receiver was down, with "firm possession" of the ball.

Stripping it from him after he was touched should NEVER be a turnover - think of all the games that could change.

The only way this season could've ended more badly is if Josh ruined his knee during the game.

So that's one win, I suppose.

50% of the flags called the entire game were on the Bills' defense during the last DEN drive.

How much do y'all figure the refs made on their bets in this game.

The calls in this game were inexcusably atrocious - particularly on the contested catch. That receiver was down with clear possession of the ball. Wrestling it away afterward isn't a "catch" by the defender. What a fucking joke.

18.01.2026 01:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 6    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I guess you can just steal a ball from a downed receiver now for a turnover now?

WTF.
