Officials seemingly shifted the DPI standard in Bills-Broncos overtime Through 60 minutes of regulation in Saturday's Bills-Broncos game, not a single flag was thrown for pass interference.

The officials called a pair of game-deciding DPI fouls against the Bills in overtime. If the same standard had been applied late in regulation, when Riley Moss apparently interfered with Brandin Cooks, the Bills may have won.

Not just inconsistent, but I would argue biased.

Inconsistent would mean each team sees roughly the same amount of these arbitrarily odd calls in either direction.

Instead, they largely go AGAINST us, game after game, year after year.

Officiating HAS to improve or fans will give up watching.

If it’s an INT because Cooks didn’t “survive the ground,” then the Mims TD isn’t a TD. If it’s DPI on Tre then it’s DPI on the DB on Cooks in the endzone. The only thing the NFL is ever good at is being horribly inconsistent/incompetent in the biggest moments. #BillsMafia

Thankfully, refs and New York and "every rules lawyer" never make mistakes then double down on their decisions, only to be roasted by the professional football analysts all week long afterward.

But he always touched while down.
The play doesn't extend so the defender can just take the possession away after being down by contact.

He cannot fulfill item C because he is down by contact.
This is true for any tackled receiver.

He caught the ball, knee on the ground, and was touched by a defender while still holding the ball.
It's done there. That's the method used to spot the ball even.

That receiver was down, with "firm possession" of the ball.

Stripping it from him after he was touched should NEVER be a turnover - think of all the games that could change.

The only way this season could've ended more badly is if Josh ruined his knee during the game.

So that's one win, I suppose.

All I ever wanted from the NFL was a fairly officiated playoff game. Just that one simple thing.

The calls in this game were inexcusably atrocious - particularly on the contested catch. That receiver was down with clear possession of the ball. Wrestling it away afterward isn't a "catch" by the defender. What a fucking joke.
