The stock "always be working" grindset advice is poison for creative careers. A sure-fire way to make work you hate, give yourself more work to redo it, and kill your motivation.

If you feel like lying in bed bingewatching clips of a show you hate, do it. It's an important part of the process.

If you’re not part of Art BlueSky, Adobe came on here, made 1 post which was ratio-ed HARD, had thousands of negative comments. They deleted the post, and then a very popular genAI image blocklist blocked them for their shitty ai images. It’s been a delight to watch.

I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking...

Everyone should read this, especially for the bits in the article that give us some insight into what these detention prisons used by ICE are like.

And no one, no one, should be traveling to the US if they can avoid it. No one.

even in an ICE detention center people will treat art as sacred, seek it out, and find joy and comfort in it. You aren’t making art, you’re making hope.
