No one was begging. The council and city management needed to hear what the non profits were going to say in the event they try to implement something like this again. People showed up to be heard and they deserved that opportunity.

I appreciate your breakdown! It’s so thorough. I will say I opposed because I do not feel the hotels need me to advocate for them. While their plan is good for the businesses they represent, I don’t think my job as a councilor is to help them collect fees and I’m concerned for the small businesses
